UK Chief Medical Officer warns of danger of Antimicrobial Resistance


The threat posed by growing antimicrobial resistance (AMR), should be considered as serious as terrorism, according to the UK’s Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Professor Dame Sally Davies. European Parliament adopts Resolution on Antimicrobial Resistance


Following an own initiative report by Member of the European Parliament (MEP) Anna Rosbach (ECR, Denmark), the European Parliament voted on 11 December to adopt a resolution on the threat to health posed by Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). EPHA launches position on antimicrobial resistance ahead of European Antibiotic Awareness Day (Nov. 18th)


This Sunday, 18 November, will be the fifth annual European Antibiotic Awareness Day (EAAD). European Parliament Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee adopts report on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) report


The European Parliament’s ENVI Committee voted on Tuesday 6 November to adopt an own initiative report on the microbial challenge. . As consumption of antimicrobials has increased, the natural processes of adaptation and mutation have resulted in new, resistant strains of common diseases. European Parliament Agriculture Committee adopts opinion on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) report

Council Conclusions on Antimicrobial Resistance: A first step in the right direction

The European Medicines Agency launches website on new European database of suspected adverse drug reaction


The European Medicines Agency (EMA) launched last May 31st the new European database of suspected adverse drug reaction reports website. The launch of this website is a positive first step in the implementation of the EudraVigilance access policy. The information carried on the site relates to approximately 650 medicines and active substances authorised through the centralised procedure.
