The seminar will have the following objectives:

- To empower the public health community to form advocacy strategies.

- To raise awareness of how health policy is made, and the impact and relevance for Polish public health.

- To learn about the added-value Polish civil society provides to the health and wellbeing of people living in Poland.

- To discuss the need for consensus in the EU on the role of public health, and of the public health capacity needed to meet this need.

- To discuss the development of public health capacity at all levels of social organisation, and the prerequisites needed to achieve this.

The intention of the organizers is to convene representatives of both governmental and nongovernmental sector i.e. policy makers, public and private health care managers and providers, academics as well as NGOs (health, social and environmental) and patients.

The event will feature diverse speakers from EPHA, ASPHER, Polish National Institute of Public Health, the Polish Ministry of Health and the Presidency, as well as Polish public health organisations and will provide a forum for an exchange of views between the above and Polish public health community. We hope to interest EU-level decision-makers to contribute to our meeting as well. We hope to make this a dynamic and interactive session accessible and appealing to a range of actors.

NOTE: The event is free of charge. The organisors DO NOT provide any financial support regarding travel and accommodation expenses.

LANGUAGE: The primary working language of the event is Polish. However, some presentations will be delivered in English with accompanying Polish written translation.
