Alba Gil

Policy Manager

Alba joined EPHA because she realized that, when talking about health, citizens do not necessarily play a key role. Therefore, public health advocates must work together from our fields of expertise to defend citizens’ interests.

As Policy Officer Alba supports activities of the healthy environments cluster, focusing on sustainable food systems and how to shape food environments in a way that healthy and sustainable choices are default choices.

Alba holds a BA in Law and Political Sciences from Carlos III University of Madrid (ES), and a MA in European Studies from the University of Maastricht (NL). She has also conducted research on Regulation 1169/2011 on Food Information to Consumers regarding food stakeholders and allergens labelling. She started her adventure in Brussels as a trainee in the European Parliament, followed by an EIT Food Fellowship in EuroFIR and a great experience in Quisper, working in food composition and Open Science.

In her free time, you can find her cooking paella, walking at Bois de la Cambre, visiting a museum or discovering the never-ending Belgian culture.
