Jaisalmer De Frutos Lucas

Policy Manager

After 7 years of experience in health research, Jaisalmer realized that producing knowledge about healthy lifestyles was not enough to build healthier societies. Her goal is to promote a deeper understanding of the barriers and facilitators of a healthier way of living. At EPHA, she contributes to the Digital Transformation cluster, looking into how digital tools can help us overcome current challenges in healthcare and health promotion, ensuring that nobody is left behind.

As a firm believer that collaboration and communication across diverse fields of knowledge are key to overcoming complex challenges, Jaisalmer has explored different areas of expertise throughout her career. She pursued a BSc in Psychology, an MSc in Neuroscience and a postgraduate diploma in Medical Genetics. She continued to obtain a PhD in Medical Sciences in a joint programme between Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (Spain) and Edith Cowan University (Australia). After her PhD, she decided to slowly transition towards Public Health. Throughout this journey, she completed a Public and Social Leadership Programme and immersed herself in cross-sectoral research in Italy and project management at the European Innovation Council in Belgium.

Jaisalmer is also a dedicated teacher and truly enjoys mentoring students and younger professionals. Beyond work, Jaisalmer is an art enthusiast who loves editorial make-up, nail art, watercolour painting and exploring museums.
