Rebecca Barlow-Noone

Communications Officer

Rebecca, from Manchester in the UK, joined EPHA as a Health Equity Policy Trainee before moving to EPHA’s Communications Team, managing EPHA’s social media presence.

Much of her interest in health equity stems from her own experiences as a patient, seeing the injustice of privilege and disadvantage on patients’ experiences and outcomes. As an advocate, she has also learned the power of storytelling and ‘Experts by Experience’ to generate change, which she channels through her work at EPHA.

She holds an MSc in Population Health from University College London. Her dissertation was a quantitative assessment of access to long-term condition healthcare for people experiencing homelessness, using data collected during the Covid-19 pandemic. She also holds a BSc in Medical Sciences from the University of Leeds, with a year as a Student Analyst for the Department of Health and Social Care.

She is a member of Diabetes UK’s young adults panel and is an advocate with the International Diabetes Federation Europe. At Leeds she founded the first student society for people with Type 1 Diabetes, and was the UK Young Leader in Diabetes for IDF Global.

She enjoys reading, drawing, and a good hike every so often!
