Tomas De Jong

Policy Manager

Tomas is responsible for EPHA’s efforts in combating health inequalities among Roma. In this, he is driven in the belief that Roma, as the largest minority group in Europe, deserve the same standard of living as non-Roma. He does this through advocacy activities, working with Roma NGOs directly and monitoring Roma integration on the EU and national level to achieve meaningful long-term chance.

He holds a BA in European Studies and an MA joint degree in European Studies from the Erasmus Mundus Master of Excellence Euroculture with the Jagiellonian University in Kraków and the Palacký University in Olomouc. He also has volunteer experience on behalf of and within Roma communities in Romania.

He loves spending his free time playing bass guitar, listening to classic rock and bebop, and reading on and engaging with anything Middle-earth related. He also has an interested in movies and series about medieval and modern history.
