EU Alliance for Investing in Children

In 2013, the European Commission published its Recommendation on Investing in Children, marking a clear approach to combatting child poverty. In the spirit of this recommendation, the EU Alliance for Investing in Children brings together over 20 European networks. Through an exchange of knowledge between its members it formulates a joint approach to child wellbeing and poverty.

With the European Child Guarantee in 2020, this topic gained renewed momentum. Accordingly, the Alliance continues to advocate for children, by maximising funding opportunities and engaging in policy processes on the national and European level to end child poverty and promote child wellbeing.

The Alliance has been established to:

Fight child poverty and promote child well-being in Europe.

Carry out advocacy activities at EU and National levels.

Promote effective implementation of the European Commission Recommendation Investing in Children – Breaking the Cycle of Disadvantage.

Make the most of opportunities offered through EU policies, processes and funding to reach these goals.
