The European Commission’s DG SANCO has launched a call for expressions of interest in membership of the ”Advisory Group on the Food Chain and Animal and Plant Health”. Interested organisations with an EU-wide remit can apply until 30 September 2010.
The aim of the group is to advise the European Commission on issues such as:
– food safety policy in general,
– food and feed safety,
– food and feed labelling and presentation,
– human nutrition in relation to food legislation,
– animal health and welfare,
– plant health.
This list is not exhaustive.
The current membership of the group comprises representatives from the food industry, as well as farmers and consumer organisations.
A maximum of 9 European organisations are currently missing. If you are interested in joining the Advisory Group, complete the application form and return it to SANCO-ADVISORY-GROUP-03-CALL@ec.europa.eu by 30 September 2010.
