As a member of the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL), EPHA has participated both in the organisation’s Annual General Assembly and in its air quality policy workshop. Monika Kosińska, EPHA’s Secretary General, was re-elected as a Member of HEAL’s Executive Committee.
HEAL’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) presented the organisation’s main achievements for the period March 2011 – March 2012. During its AGA, HEAL also elected its Executive Committee Members, voted in the new HEAL membership applications and adopted the Work Programme and main policy priorities for 2013. Since Janez POTOČNIK, the EU Commissioner for Environment, has designated 2013 as the Year of Air, HEAL organised a special workshop examining how we can reduce air pollution to improve people’s health.
Monika Kosińska, EPHA’s Secretary General, was re-elected as one of HEAL’s Executive Committee members. In her speech, she said: “I have extensive EU health policy experience which has allowed me to develop strategic networks in the public health community, as well as related policy areas. I bring 16 years of management experience, including 10 years of managing membership organisations in the EU health field and a proven success rate of building financial diversity and sustainability in membership organisations. This combination allows me to support the Secretariat in its day-to-day work, and contribute to the continuing success of the organisation.”
