Feedback from the EFSA Stakeholder Consultative Group – 19 and 20 June 2012

After having attended the EFSA Consultative Stakeholder Group on 19 and 20 June 2012, EPHA wanted to inform its members about few noteworthy developments.

In order to make its activities more visible and understandable to the general public, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recently published a series of videos on the main themes the organisation is working on: “What is antimicrobial resistance?”, “What is salmonella?”, “Independent science”.

In June 2012, the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) was informed that its membership for the EFSA Consultative Stakeholder Group has been renewed for the three coming years. The European Federation of the Associations of Dieticians (EFAD), an EPHA member has also been appointed to sit on the Platform. In a total of 24 members of the previous mandate, 18 have been renewed.

Next November 7 and 8 2012, EFSA will be organising a conference entitled “Challenging boundaries in risk assessment – sharing experiences. The event aims at gathering scientists from different disciplines to discuss the latest developments in the area of risk assessment, as well as ways to foster and further it.
