Mental Health Europe announces 2012 Annual conference on Social Determinants of Mental Health

Mental Health Europe, EPHA member working on Mental Health issues in Brussels has announced the details of its 2012 conference to be held on 14 – 16 June in Split, Croatia. Deadline to submit abstract: 15 March 2012

Abstracts are now being invited for contributions to the Mental Health Europe Annual conference, which this year will focus on the Social Determinants of Mental Health. The conference will feature speakers from the World Health Organisation (WHO), European Commission and the United Nations (UN). The conference will discuss methods of improving social environments including school and workplaces to make them more conducive to good mental health. It will examine the role of society in reinforcing and addressing inequalities.

The focus of the conference will be on deinstitutionalisation and looking for community-based services as the primary to mental health service provision. There will be interventions from people providing services at the ‘grassroots level’, giving examples of best practice work being undertaken across Europe in the field.

Submissions form should be be returned to Yves Brand (yves.brand@mhe-sme.org) and Maja Soco (maja.soco@stokoluri.org) by March 15, 2012.
