On Wednesday 26 October 2022, the European Commission released its proposal for updating the Ambient Air Quality Directive. The health community considers this proposal as not enough ambitious because it fails to fully align the EU standards with the WHO air quality guidelines by 2030 at the latest. This means that air pollution will remain a threat to everyone’s health.
