About EASL
——
EASL is an EPHA-member organisation which is based in Geneva and is a membership organisation for hepatology health professionals. EASL currently has just over 4,000 members from over 100 countries. The EASL annual congress now attracts over 10,000 participants and is the biggest medical liver congress in the world. EASL will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2015 but has only recently opened a secretariat and office in Geneva. EASL wants to significantly increase its profile in Brussels and be much more pro-active in raising awareness of liver disease and alcohol harm at EU level.
